Current practices
Typically each class is broken down into 3 components. A warm-up, a tag game, and then a skill activity. Warm-up exercises focus on specific health and skill related components of fitness. Tag games are usually played to focus on cardiovascular endurance and proper sportsmanship. After that, students participate in a skill activity or Unit which can sometimes last two to four class periods depending on the difficulty of the skill. Tag games may be omitted some class periods so students can have more time to work on the skill and/or if the skill requires a lot of cardiovascular endurance.
